The Anawim

NAKAKAMANGHA! After attending to an emergency call at the ER around 11:00 o’clock in the evening, I roamed around outside the ER and talked to some patients who has been there early in the morning waiting and hoping to be accepted in the Emergency Room. As I came closer to Tatay Jose (not his real name) I noticed he was carrying with him palm branches or palaspas. Iniisip ko, Palm Sunday is still a week away.

So I asked him, ”Tatay bakit ka may palaspas?

What an amazing preparation you have for the Holy Week. Indeed, in matters of faith and practice, we don’t only learn from great and brilliant theologians, professors and pastors, but we always learn from simple people like Tatay Jose – the Anawim!
