GUIDANCE ON HOSPITAL PROCEDURES (NEW NORMAL)

NOTE: Most of these procedures/ processes are for CSMC. But they apply to other RCAM accredited hospitals.

 



A.           FOR EMERGENCY ROOM

1.             If with COVID-19 or COVID-19 related symptoms, the Beneficiary informs the Medical Coordinator (MC) of his/ her condition before proceeding or as s/he proceeds to the Emergency Room (ER). If non- COVID, the beneficiary can directly proceed to ER but informs the MC still.

2.             MC informs and coordinates with ER in either case.

3.             MC follows up on the Beneficiary and with ER (doctors and nurses).

4.             MC asks ER if the beneficiary is for admission or discharge.

5.             If an ambulance is needed, MC seeks approval from the RCAM-Treasurer and coordinates with the hospital for ambulance or with an ambulance provider.


B.            FOR ADMISSION

1.             Beneficiaries coordinate with the Medical Coordinator.

2.             MC will check the Master List and give approval and give details with ER or Admitting Department (AD).

3.             Required for admission are the following:

a.             Doctor’s request.

b.             RT PCR results of the Beneficiary (and his/ her companion to be in the room).

4.             Admitting orients the Beneficiary (e.g. on pandemic hospital rules) and informs the medical coordinator to proceed if patient agrees on hospital terms below are some of the hospital rules:

a.   The companion is discouraged to go outside the room, even to buy food, for the safety of the patient.

b.  After the expiration of swab test result, the beneficiary and companion need to re-swab in order to maintain the room. If patient test positive he/she will be transferred to COVID room.

5.      MC assists in the whole admission process.

 

C.           DURING CONFINEMENT

1.             Doctor’s request is needed for procedures needing LOA.

2.             Hospital protocols are followed (e.g. for bantays/ caregivers/ nurses, for food and medicines).

3.             MC checks and provides daily updates on admitted beneficiaries.

 

D.           FOR DISCHARGE

1.             Attending nurse gives instruction upon discharge. But MC gives instruction a day before possible discharge for the doctor to sign the PhilHealth form.

2.             Beneficiary gives the signed PhilHealth form to the nurse or nurse station.

3.             MC calls Billing to check if nurse station already computed all fees.

4.             MC follows up billing and PhilHealth for deduction and discount.

5.             Billing informs MC if the clearance is already available, while the porter gives it to the Beneficiary and accompany him/ her a he/ she leaves the hospital.

6.             Beneficiary receives a copy of the hospital bill.

7.             MC assists in the whole discharge process.

 

E.            FOR WELLNESS (EXECUTIVE CHECK-UP)

1.             The Beneficiary calls MC and provides the following information:

a.             Doctor’s Order

b.             Package

c.             Three (3) preferred dates.

2.             MC e-mails Wellness for scheduling/ booking.

3.             Wellness e-mails the Beneficiary of the Schedule and Pre-Op Procedure and provides MC a copy.

4.             MC asks for Doctor’s request for LOA purposes.

5.             MC sends the LOA to Wellness and Beneficiaries via e-mail.

6.             The Beneficiary gives Wellness the Original Copy of Doctor’s request.

7.             Wellness assists the Beneficiary in all procedures, from start to finish, and gives further instructions for the result and follow up check-up.

8.             MC gets updates from Wellness.

 





F.            FOR CLINIC CHECK UP

1.             Beneficiaries inform MC of the Clinic Check-ups for record purposes.

2.             MC assists in the scheduling.

3.             Go to www.csmceconsult.com Register as new patient and get your password Login and go to DOCTOR’S CLINIC and Book a Consultation.

a.               Note: if you are not the patient (you are registering in behalf of another person e.g. Your parents/child), add their names during booking when you are in the TRIAGE part.

4.             Wait for the APPROVAL of your schedule from your doctor or his/her secretary. You receive SMS notification of your CONFIRMED schedule.

5.             Show your SMS to the CSMC Guard upon entering the premise. No confirmed schedule cannot enter the Medical Arts Building. Please read carefully and follow the reminders emailed to you.

6.             For Other Hospital Pls. Check Online Check up in their Website.

 

G.           FOR MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (MRI)

1.             Patient informs the MC of his/ her MRI Schedule.

2.             MC coordinates with the MRI department about the procedure details.

3.             MC asks for the doctor’s order for LOA purposes.

 

H.           FOR SWAB TEST

1.             The Beneficiary gets prescription from his/her doctor.

2.             The Beneficiary calls the MC for endorsement to Emergency Room, if with COVID-19 Related Symptoms.

3.             If no symptoms, the Beneficiary informs still the MC and can proceed directly to the swabbing area which observes the schedule below:

CSMC Schedule:

Opens at 7am-11am in the morning, cut off is 1030am

Opens at 1pm-4pm in the afternoon, cut off is 330pm

4.             The Beneficiary fills up the CIF. Please indicate your e-mail address in your CIF.

5.             The Medical Coordinator follows up on the Beneficiary.

6.             The Medical Coordinator updates the Minister and other responsible people.

7.             The RT-PCR Result will be out 24 to 48 hours.

8.             Bring your RCAM ID.


I.              CARDINAL ON WHEELS (COW)

1.             Beneficiaries informs MC about the kind of services they need from COW. Needed is Doctor’s order.

2.             MC asks approval from the Oeconomus.

3.             MC books at COW upon approval.

4.             Services and procedures will be limited to what is in the Doctor’s prescription and booked with COW.

5.             Additional procedures are subject to approval, if not, the beneficiary pays for them.


 

J.      CANCER CENTER

1.      Beneficiaries provide MC with the Doctor’s order.

2.      MC coordinates with HR for LOA.
